Privacy

The short version: we don't sell your information, we don't show your exact location by default, and we try to keep the amount of personal data we collect to the minimum that makes the community work.

What we collect

When you create an account we store your name, email, and a hashed password. On your family profile you choose what to share — intro, rig details, general region, interests, pets, child age ranges. Most fields are optional.

Location privacy

Friends on the Road never exposes an exact live location by default. We use broad region labels like "Central Texas" or "Yellowstone area". Any future fine-grained sharing will be opt-in only.

Kids

We do not create accounts for children or collect their identifying information. The app only supports optional general information like the number of children and a broad age range, and we encourage members not to share exact birth dates, school details, site numbers, or schedules.

What we do with it

We use the information to run the platform: account, profiles, feed, meetups, messages, notifications, and moderation. We don't sell or rent personal data.

Your choices

  • Edit or remove anything on your family profile.
  • Set notification preferences in settings.
  • Delete your account (see Settings) — we remove your profile and recent content.
